If you’re like most people, you live for the moment the clock strikes 5 on a Friday (or 3:15, if you’re younger than 18). Let’s be honest, the weekend is the most anticipated time of the week; after all, it’s the time you have to catch up on sleep, spend time with your family, get your errands taken care of and – most importantly – have some fun!
Things to do on the weekend.
But if, on Sunday night, you’re sitting wondering where the weekend went, you might need a few tips to help make it seem a bit longer. Here’s our best advice:
Get up at the normal time.
Sure, it might seem tempting to sleep til noon on Saturday morning, but if you do, half your day will be gone! Not to mention that changing your schedule gets your body out of sync – and you could end up paying for that come Monday.
Run errands earlier in the week.
If you can carve out a couple hours on weekdays or nights, get the grocery shopping and errand running out of the way then. That way, you’ll be free to play come the weekend. Not to mention that most stores and shopping centers are much more pleasant on weekdays than weekends!
If you absolutely have to get some chores done this weekend, do them first. You may be tempted to procrastinate vacuuming, mopping or weeding the garden, but those tasks will just loom over you and ruin your weekend.
Plan some activities.
Having something to look forward to on the weekend can make your entire week seem better. Not to mention that, as you consider your weekend come Sunday night, you’ll do so with more fondness if you’ve had some great experiences. FLIPnOUT fun centers, anyone?
Include your favorite people.
It’s not always about what you do on the weekends, but who you’re with. Make your weekends chock-filled with people you love, like your family and close friends. Make plans in advance so that your schedules align come Saturday and Sunday. And, of course, be sure to include a fun activity with them.
