If there is one thing that we at FLIPnOUT are committed to, it’s fun. If we had to add a second thing we’re committed to, it might be health. We truly believe that fun can and should be healthy!
The same is true when it comes to food. As parents, you already know that eating healthy is important for your children’s well-being – fruits, vegetables, whole grains – you know that. What keeps you from feeding your children healthy foods?
Well, probably several things. But we are willing to be that one of the biggest reasons is time (or the lack thereof). If you’re like most parents out there, you know what it feels like to be a slave to a hectic schedule. And because parents often don’t have a lot of time, you’re limited to eating and serving foods that are on-the-go, which tend to be processed, sugary, and all around not-so-good for you.
When you’re on the go, keep a supply of whole grain crackers, string cheese, apple slices, and low-fat yogurt. It’s a good way to balance the ever-present battle of convenience and healthy eating habits.
