If you’ve ever been to a Halloween party, chances are, you’ve played one or two of these games. This time of year, it’s always nice to experience a “throw back” to the fun Halloween parties of your childhood.
Classic Halloween Party Games
We’re pretty sure you’ll remember one (or all) of these:
Bobbing for Apples
Apparently we never used to worry about germs, because we were all totally find sticking our open mouths into a bucket of water right before (or after) several other people do the same. This classic fall game involves a bucket of water and a whole lot of apples. With hands tied behind their backs and blindfolds over their eyes, partygoers have to pick up an apple using only their teeth. These days we’ll stick to caramel apples.
Halloween is the perfect time for telling scary stories, but this game usually ends up more funny than terrifying. One person starts by setting up a creepy tale, then hands the storytelling reigns over to another person. Each person in the group has to improvise his or her part, taking everyone on their spooky, unknown journey. While this may not be so scary, it’s always a good time!
This game requires skill… and a whole lot of patience! Two teams try to fill a jack-o-lantern as fast as they can, using only a spoon! Two pumpkins sit on one side of the room, while a bowl of popcorn or m&ms sit on the other. When the race starts, a player from each team scoops up the popcorn or candy with only a spoon, then runs across the room to “feed” the pumpkin. Here’s the catch: if you drop the candy or popcorn, you have to start over. Tread lightly!
You may not have thought of going as a mummy for Halloween, but you just might end up one if you play this game. Two teams each select one person to “mummify,” after which they wrap them up with as much toilet paper, gauze or bandages as they can. The team with the most convincing mummy will win at the end of the game!
Your turn! What awesome Halloween game do you remember from childhood?
